For most of us, our faces are the first place we show our age. The skin gets thin and we lose our youthful appearance, but doctors have a new Face Fix that's taking off years, Seven's Diana Diaz has the story.

WSVN -- Gail Barofsky is a proud to be a grandmother, but she didn't want to look like one.

Gail Barofsky: "Wrinkles, deep wrinkles, my cheeks were like sunken in. Made me look a lot older than I felt."

Gravity was taking its toll on her face and she was searching for a way to get rid of that hollowed out look.

She went to see University of Miami dermatologist Leslie Baumann who told her about a new filler called Sculptra.

Dr. Leslie Baumann: "The way that Sculptra works best is when it's used in this area here. When people are very gaunt and don't have fat in their face."

Sculptra is filler previously used only on HIV and aids patients who had lost facial fat, but now, the Food and Drug Administration has approved Sculptra for facial aging.

Dr. Leslie Baumann: "It actually thickens the middle layer of the skin called the dermis, and that makes your skin look thicker and more youthful."

Here's how it works: The patients face is numbed with cream and then ice is applied.

Next, the doctor injects Sculptra and the then massages the treated areas to make sure filler spreads evenly.

Dr. Leslie Baumann: "You see you're fuller there and there."

The good news, you can back to work right after your treatment and no one will know, but keep in mind its not instant results.

Dr. Leslie Baumann: "It takes several treatments."

But doctors say the good news is Sculptra lasts for up to three years. Gail got shots once a month for three months before she noticed a change.

Gail Barofsky: "It's a huge difference. It's a big difference because it's not sunken in, it's fuller, you feel better about yourself."

Diana Diaz: "Sculptra isn't cheap it costs about $1,000 a treatment depending on how much you need."
