Getting annual screenings is key to catching breast cancer early, but for some women, it's a painful process they avoid. Seven's Christine Cruz shows us how a one-stop shop for women is making the testing easier.

WSVN -- Nancy Tedesco knows breast cancer runs in her family. Her mother's twin sister had it and then more bad news.

Nancy Tedesco: "Just two years ago my sister showed up with breast cancer."

Nancy knew she should get checked regularly, but was scared after her first mammogram.

Nancy Tedesco: "It was very, very painful to me to the point where I never wanted to go back again."

Danielle Fitzgerald from the New Women's Imaging Center says making women comfortable when they come in for testing is important.

Danielle Fitzgerald: "What we wanted to do was create a very unique, comforting, low-stress environment."

Since getting a mammogram can be an anxious time for many women, the center was designed to be warm and welcoming starting with reserved parking and snacks once you get in the door.

Danielle Fitzgerald: "We have the designer coffees and teas available for them as well as snacks and fruit."

A fountain sets a calming mood in the waiting area. Plus women can get their mammogram, ultrasound and bone density test for osteoporosis all in one place.

Danielle Fitzgerald: "We want the patients to be aware that this is something simple that they can accomplish."

Nancy got a mammogram and ultrasound a radiologist looked at her films right away and gave her the good news, she was all clear.

Nancy Tedesco: "I want to be around for my kids. I want to see my grandchild grow up."

Plus she plans to come back next year and never miss another mammogram.

Nancy Tedesco: "It was very warm, it was soothing, and my fears were brought down."

Christine Cruz: "If you only need a screening mammogram the center says they'll get you in and out in 30 minutes."
