All Money Monday

For some of us, the idea of owning our own business is a lifelong dream. Well now, some local entrepreneurs are offering their knowledge and help in hopes of inspiring others. Lynn Martinez has details in "Money Monday."

WSVN -- Omar Morales is an operations manager for a growing company. Inez Romaguera and Susan Farver have their own small insurance businesses.

All three hope to make new business connections at the Entrepreneur Summit 2011.

Susan Farver, Small Business Owner: "This is a unique opportunity to be motivated, to rejuvenate and to meet new people."

The summit is sponsored by Hispanic Unity of Florida.

Josie Bacallao, Hispanic Unity of South Florida: "Our slogan is, 'Get informed, get connected and get inspired,' and our conference does all three of those."

Summit workshops cover topics like how to start a business and how to sell ideas to investors.

Inez Romaguera, Small Business Owner: "I'm going to have an opportunity to not just network with other business owners but also with business leaders that have already been successful."

People at the summit will have access to successful entrepreneurs like Jose Mas, CEO of the $2 billion company MasTec, and Barbara Palacios, a former Miss Universe whose BP Corporation has boutiques in South Florida and Central and South America.

Omar D. Morales, Manager, Cano Medical Dental: "If you're feeling that need of getting reconnected, solidify some of the skill sets that you have, this is the place to come."

It's all about learning new skills and connecting with people who can help you and your company grow.

Josie Bacallao: "This entrepreneur summit is really about the American dream: what do you need to know, who do you need to know and how do you keep yourself inspired to be able to reach that American dream."

Lynn Martinez: "If you're interested in attending the summit, it's not too late. It begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Hyatt Bonaventure Resort and Spa in Weston. Workshops are free for walk-ins."
