If you have a baby on the way you're probably all too familiar with having a sore aching back and all those other pregnancy pains. Well, grab the dad to be, it's time for some pain relief through massage. 7's Lynn Martinez tells us more in tonight's Parent to Parent.
WSVN -- Michael Harrison is taking the pain out of pregnancy for his wife Maria.
Michael Harrison: "How's that? Enough pressure? It's plenty of pressure."
Maria has severe low back pain, but she's getting relief thanks to a new website called massage-a-mom.
Michael Harrison: "You're going to absolutely love this routine."
Michael is learning all the tricks to make her feel better.
Michael Harrison: "It's a piece of cake, you just go online, download the video, watch for a couple of minutes and you've got it. It's very natural, very easy."
Massage-a-mom comes special delivery from pre-natal massage therapist and labor doula Mary Lou DiNicholas.
Mary Lou DiNicholas: "There's no reason for you to have sciatic pain or back pain or lower back pain, and that's how the website was developed."
Watch and learn massage and excersize ball routines designed to increase mom's circulation, reduce swelling in hands and legs and strengthen muscles. Plus, it just feels so darn good!
Maria Harrison: "During my first pregnancy she didn't have it online and I would describe to Michael how to do it and what to do, but it never came out quite the way it does now because he's been able to watch exactly her technique."
Having some husband-wife bonding time is also a bonus.
Michael Harrison: "Just to be able to give my wife some kind of comfort to relieve the pain that she's been dealing with has been a blessing, so anything I can do to help out."
Mary Lou says she's just glad to have a chance to make pregnancy a little easier for moms to be.
Mary Lou DiNicholas: "It's all about keeping Mommy happy. Anybody who already has children knows that when Mommy is happy everybody is happy."
