All Parent to Parent

Ask any parent finding safe, reliable child care is not an easy task. Now a new on-line service means finding the perfect sitter is just a click away. 7s Lynn Martinez shows us in tonight's Parent to Parent.

WSVN -- Carmen Narvaez: "No you don't want to eat that..."

Carmen loves being a mom to 10-month old Wolfgang, but when it came to finding good, reliable child care that was a different story.

Carmen Narvaez: "Which was very time-consuming, very frustrating and very scary actually."

Then Carmen heard about a company called Seeking Sitters, an on-line babysitting referral service

Carmen Narvaez: "Seeking sitters this is Carmen."

She thought it was such a good idea she opened up a branch in Miami.

Carmen Narvaez: "I can relieve my own headache and the headaches of all parents living in the area."

What Carmen liked most about Seeking Sitters is that all applicants go through a very thorough screening process. A licensed private investigator checks for any criminal history, sexual offenses even their driving record.

Carmen Narvaez: "I personally re-screen every applicant, I review every babysitter."

Silvia didn't want to leave her precious daughter Veronica with just anyone.

Silvia Garcia-Serra: "I don't care if somebody steals my diamond ring, my most valuable possession is my daughter."

So when she wanted a date night with her husband she called Seeking Sitters.

Silvia Garcia-Serra: "You can put the date, the time, you can even pick the sitter that you want."

Julia Reisner: "Hi, I'm Julia with Seeking Sitters."

Julia a UM student loves working with kids and says it's the perfect job for her right now.

Julia Reisner: "When a family calls in, Carmen can match us up, which is great so it's completely flexible with my schedule."

Moms like Silvia love the convenience of the service and the fact it's child care they can trust.

Silvia Garcia-Serra: "They bring a bag full of activities, coloring books, even though she doesn't color amazingly, they're engaging her and that's what's important to me."

Lynn Martinez: "Parents sign up and pay a one-time fee of $39.99. Then they can check out the sitters profiles on-line.
