Room for Improvement: Home Office Makeover

WSVN -- Spring is just around the corner, you know what that means, it's time for spring cleaning. Now that's no fun unless you get to reveal a brand new space at the end! On today's Room for Improvement, we're doing both as we give a home office better style and function after lots of dusting and decorating!

Martin: "The office is in major need of an overhaul … but before any of the decorating can begin, we have to get to a more pressing matter, cleaning up the clutter! Not a fun job, but someone has to do it."

Aside from decorating, we really need to make this room function as an office. And we want to maximize every space including the closet. If you can't afford those expensive closet organizers, and inexpensive bookshelf does the trick."

Martin: "I liked the base of this lamp. I just wasn't too crazy about the shade. A bit dated. But a new shade helps to make something old, new again. Great on the budget too."

Martin: "A successful home office combines beauty with function. In this case we have in boxes, pencil cups and letter holders. They look great and help you keep things neat and organized."

Martin: "And this is the finishing touch. Who says you can't combine work and play. It's your home office and there are no rules."

Martin: "This morning, this space was a complete clutter zone and the home owner had loss on what to do with it. But, in one day and with a budget of less than a thousand dollars it's become a space that reflects home and office. Let's hope Claudia like it."

Ok I'm done with all the cleaning and decorating for today. The key to a home office make over is to place the emphasis on the word "home" instead of office. As you saw you can truly create a beautiful space in your home that is really a pleasure to work in. I'll see You next week.
