Room for Improvement: Romantic Room

WSVN -- Love is in the air this month, but the master bedroom we're working on today is missing that loving feeling. So, I'm here to help surprise the homeowner's wife with a unique valentine's day gift. Just call me cupid.

Martin: Hi Steven.

Steven:"Hi Martin. How are you? Busy day ahead huh."

Martin:"Absolutely. Yes we do."

Martin:"Ok Steven, we're surprising your wife today right?"

Steven: "Yes we are."

Martin:"Are you nervous?"

valentines day gift and surprise her a bit. She deserves it. I think it's going to be very special."

Martin:"Ok, So we're totally surprising her.. we've got about seven hours and a lot of work. We've got a long day ahead. You ready to work? Let's work."

Martin: "Okay Steven, the first thing we need to do is paint this entire space. So you up for it?"

Steven:"Yep."

Martin:"I chose this soft yellow is because if you notice it picks up the soft yellow in the bedding. Very nice."

Martin:"Now with the hardest part done, wasn't too bad, huh? We can begin turning this room into a master suite."

Martin: "We can't have a master suite without night stands. And, when it's all about getting the look for less, trust me don't be afraid to use furniture that requires minor assembly. These look great and help give the bed more presence."

Martin:"Because we're going for that rich Middle Eastern look, these tassels are the perfect accent to tie back the panes. But keep in mind, when not in use, simply hang them from the ends of the rods to really give the window treatments that extra special touch."

Martin: "Ok Steven, here's an inexpensive way to make your own wall art. I found these frames on clearance, 8x 10's for ten bucks each. Then I bought some craft paper that I simply cut down to size and put it in the mat. So once we actually frame them and we put a set of four with all the different colors. It's going to give us a nice gallery affect on this wall."

If you have wall to wall carpeting, especially in a neutral shade like this, it's always nice to add a few accent rugs to the space. It helps bring out some color on the floor and warmth to the room.

Martin:"Well, at the beginning of the day, this master bedroom was sparse and you just weren't "feeling the love" when it came to decorating. But, now it sets the mood for many romantic nights for less than $1,000. Let's hope Natifa likes it."

Martin: "Now it's just a matter of waiting for your wife to come home. Hive five man.

Steven:"Thanks for all your help."

Steve:"Surprise! Happy Valentines Day. Baby."

Natifa:"This is so pretty Happy Valentines Day."

Natifa:"My good ness this is so pretty."

Natifa:"So this is what you do when I'm at work huh?"

Steve:"Ya ... Thank you so much."

Martin:"Forget about diamonds and chocolates this Valentines, how about decorating her world? Just start out one room at a time, and hey, it's a gift both of you can enjoy. I got a run and share the love guys.. I'll see you next week on another room for improvement."
