Room for Improvement: Master Suite
From boring bedroom to magnificent master suite... Tonight may be Martin Amado's greatest makeover ever. In this evening's Room For Improvement, he's showing us where you sleep can be a dream come true.
WSVN--We are working on our biggest project ever on today's Room for Improvement. It's a huge master suite that needs some attention and we are also surprising the husband with the makeover. So we have to work against the clock to make this happen in one day. Let's get to work.
Martin: "So what's the problem? I see the potential in this space but obviously you are unhappy with the way it looks right now."
Ana: "Too much space. I have no abimence. I want to create an oasis if you will so that when I retreat to my bedroom which was meant to be a master suite, I'll want to stay here instead of run out."
The best part about that bedroom is that it's big. The problem it that it's big. The size is working against us. Hopefully all these accessories will help give it a sense of style and help create that topical retreat Ana and her husband are looking for.
We are going to shift all this heavy furniture around and for that I had some extra man power so luckily I have some of Ana's friends to help us out. Hey, guys these are for you. Thank you so much.
Martin: "Alright guys I think we are done. Are you tired? What you do think so far?"
Ana: "Looks, great."
Now, we have standard sham and a Euro sham. The inserts tend to cost a bit more money so a great alternative is to take an oversized floor cushion and use that instead.
Don't forget to finish off the top of amores with decorative accessories and if it happens to be hollow such as this just use an empty card board box to prop of the items.
Design Direction
If you happen to be a collect of small items such as sea shells, match boxes or maybe even some corks. Go ahead and place them into a beautiful clear vase as an excellent way to display them.
When you are working in a large bedroom you should really divide the space into functional areas. By doing some rearranging and placing the couch on the foot of the bed, we created a cozy seating arrangement.
Nothing will give you that wow fact in bedroom more than a canopy.
This morning we found a large bedroom that was a diamond in the rough, but now we created a beautiful santuary and truly deserves to be called a master suite. Final budget under two-thousand dollars.
Martin: "Hi, Bruce."
Ana: "This is unbelievable. I love it. It's wonderful. I can't wait to move in."
Martin: "Now that's what I call a master suite. I think if you close your eyes you can almost imagine you are on vacation in your own home and that's the best part. I'll see you next time."
