Room for Improvement: Master Bedroom

WSVN--It's nice when a husband takes on the task on of decorating to surprise his wife but that can be a bad thing too depending on how you look at it. But not to worry Room for Improvement is here to pull it all together.

Martin: "Room for Improvement."

Godfrey: "Hey, Martin."

Martin: "Hi Godfrey how are you? It's not typical, I must admit, to have a guy take on the decorating. Wife's like to be involved in picking colors and textures and bedding. Do you feel confident is what you've done so far?"

Godfrey: "Both of us pretty much have the same tastes and I know she has seen your work and is happy with it. By the time she gets back, I want to hit her with that 'wow' factor."

The biggest obstacle with master bedroom is the placement of the furnture. It's not maximazing the floor place but with the new arrangement and the right accessories it will all come together in the end.

Eventhough we have three roll up shades for each of the individual windows, I'm using a sheer panal to hide the seams and it makes it appear as though it's on large one window.

When you have large piece of furniture, your wall art should really be in proportion. In this case it helps to balance out the grouping.

So the whole goal is to surprise Denise with a makeover but I think Godfrey will be just as much. The final touch a photo of them together and we are done.

This morning the placement of the furniture in it's large scale made the room feel cramped and unbalanced, but with the new layout and decorative accessories we created a modern master bedroom that both Denise and Godfrey will can enjoy. Final budget under $900.

Martin: "1,2,3."

Godfrey: "Awesome. Absolutely awesome. I love it. She is going to love it."

Martin: "Now, it looks like a bedroom."

Now, Densie will come home to a brand new master bedroom and Godfrey can take all the credit. SHHH. I'll see you guys soon.
