Pretty in pink is great for a young girl, but how about an older teen? It's a challenge Martin Amado is up for. Our master of makeovers is here now to show us how to transform a room with that little girl look to college cool.

WSVN -- Martin Amado: "On today's Room for Improvement we're helping a college freshman make an important transition, taking her bedroom space from little girl sweet to young adult chic."

Martin Amado: "All right Kelsy, so I see lots of pink and white. I take it you're tired of that, right?"

Kelsey: "Yes, it's really juvenile and I've already outgrown that stage of my life. I want it be more eclectic, more reflective of my personality."

Martin Amado: So, there's lots to do. Brand new furniture, brand new paint, so let me get to work all right?"

Kelsey: "All right!"

Martin Amado: "Kelsy's bedroom no longer reflects her sense of style. She wants a more mature look and of course we're going to give that to her with a new color scheme, decorative accessories and brand new furniture. Let's get to work."

Martin Amado: "All right, so the first thing we did is get rid of all the pink, and in it's place we have this beautiful plum and taupe combination that reflects a more modern style, and to compliment that of course, we're adding brand new window treatments."

Martin Amado: "Kelsy wanted her bedroom to have a world traveled look, so in combination with these traditional panels, I'm adding these beaded curtains that I absolutely love for a bit of an Asian style."

Martin Amado: "All right let's make the bed and this just doesn't work in my new design."

Martin Amado: "Kelsy had all these beautiful photographs that she took during travels, basically just taped to the walls and that didn't work for me, so a much better solution is to place them inside these frames."

Martin Amado: "The second step, display them on these beautiful floating ledges for a true gallery setting."

Martin Amado: "Kelsy's bedroom is so large we can actually incorporate a small seating area, which I know she wanted."

Martin Amado: "I love this. Now she has a comfortable seating area where she can hang out with friends and watch the new plasma television."

Martin Amado: "Can you say gorgeous? I just love it."

Martin Amado: "Final touch. It's a night and day difference and I hope that Kelsy likes her brand new bedroom."

Martin Amado: "This morning Kelsy's bedroom was all pink and white, a look she had definitely grown out of. Now, it reflects her love of travel and different cultures, giving her the perfect setting as she begins a new chapter in her life."

Martin Amado: "Here we go, one, two, two and a half, three, open your eyes, go ahead.

Kelsey: "Oh My God, it's so nice. I love it. It's so me!"

Martin Amado: "No more pink and white."

Martin Amado: "All right guys thank you for watching and we'll see you next time on another Room for Improvement!"
