All Room for Improvement

If you like decorating your home along with the seasons, our makeover maestro, Martin Amado is going to give us his must have tips. Martin is showing us how to bring Spring in doors, it's tonight's Room for Improvement.

WSVN -- Martin Amado: "The key to giving your home a new look for Spring on a budget is to only switch out the accessories and of course a color scheme that reminds us of the season. Today, we'll be concentrating on the bedroom, the living room and the dining room, which are all key spaces in a home. Let's begin."

Martin Amado: "In a bedroom, new bedding is the easiest way to refresh the look, but I'm also taking it a step further by painting an accent wall."

Painting. Change bedding.

Martin Amado: "I love how the new bedding now, picks up on the accent wall and the design keeps the entire bedroom light and airy."

Pillows. Bedroom afters.

Martin Amado: "Moving on to the living room. How do we give this dark espresso furniture the splash of color it needs for Spring? One way to do that is to switch out the toss pillows."

Toss pillows.

Martin Amado: "Its a stubble change that makes a big difference in the living room. And remember, if you actually want to change it up a notch and change the look of the sofa all together than you can always opt for a neutral slipcover."

Martin Amado: "Two other tips to keep in mind are one: switch out your heavier curtain panels for some lighter sheers over the windows and two: choose a light area rug like this one or even one with texture such as a sisal."

Martin Amado: "And finally, guys, moving on to your dining room. You don't have to necessarily dine outdoors to enjoy this beautiful time of the year, you can bring the same colors and styles on to your dining table."

Table setting.

Martin Amado: "It's OK to mix and match the place mats as long as you maintain the same color scheme."

Martin Amado: "Nothing says Spring like tulips. So, I bought one bouquet, and I'm dividing it into three arrangements to save money."

Martin Amado: "So, the first step is to take a regular drinking glass and use it as a vase."

Flowers in cup.

Martin Amado: "Now, I'm taking my small arrangement and placing it inside a large hurricane glass."

Dining table afters.

Martin Amado: "So by now that you're done with all the Spring cleaning so you can concentrate on the fun part. As you saw you can add a touch of Spring throughout different areas of your home with some simply accessories. I'm Martin Amado and I'll see you next time on another Room for Improvement."
