Food always brings friends and family together so tonight, our makeover maestro Martin Amado is here to show us how a few simple touches can make a big difference in your dining space.

Martin Amado: "If the kitchen is the heart of the home, then having a beautiful dining room is equally as important to enjoy gatherings with family and friends, so on today's Room for Improvement, we're giving this plain looking dining room the wow factor its missing."

Martin Amado: "The goal for today is to dress up the windows, bring in some additional furniture pieces to give it a better function, and the decorative elements to complete the room. Let's get started."

Martin Amado: "If you have a wide window span, you want to use a minimum of four panels otherwise its going to look like a bed sheet hanging and you don't want that."

Martin Amado: "All right, should we keep the verticals or not? What do you guys say? I think they are out of here."

Martin Amado: "All right, the curtains are up. They look fantastic, but now I'm having issues with this area rug. Its way too small for the table and a bit worn. You know me. I have a solution."

Martin Amado: "There you go. All we needed was an 8 by 10 area rug and I also love the shag texture."

Martin: Amado: "I'm a big fan of incorporating a sideboard in a dining room space, not only for the extra storage, but it also gives you additional surface space for serving dishes if your having a large party."

Martin Amado: "Placing a mirror on top of the buffet adds more depth in the dining room as well."

Martin Amado: "I took some shell pieces as a base on top of a decorative tray. We have three cylinder tea light holders and we have a modern centerpiece. We're done."

Martin Amado: "This morning, the dining room was way too simple. It needed all the decorative elements to create a more elegant setting. Of course, the window treatments made the biggest difference, the new area rug and now the space ha come together and is ready for the next dinner party. For Room for Improvement, I'm Martin Amado."
