Room for Improvement: Master Bedroom
To make a room beautiful, it's all about the accessories. Martin Amado is showing us how to give a master bedroom his wow factor. That's tonight's "Room for Improvement."
WSVN -- Martin Amado: "At the end of a busy day at work or maybe with the kids, we all deserve to have a beautiful master bedroom that becomes an escape from the stresses of everyday life. So, on today's Room for Improvement, I'll show how to get exactly that look in this bedroom space, all in one day. Let's get to work."
Martin Amado: "You know I always say it doesn't matter how much you spend on furniture, it says nothing in a room until you add the final layer of decorative accessories to make it all come together. That's exactly what's missing in this bedroom, so let's begin by making the bed, and I promise you that alone, it's going to be a big transformation."
Martin Amado: "Here's a tip: the higher the thread count per square inch, the more luxurious the sheets feel."
Martin Amado: "Let's continue now adding color in the room with our window treatments, and if you notice, I choose a strip that complements the pattern, and the reason this works and it's not too much is because I'm keeping it in the same color scheme."
Martin Amado: "All right guys, here's a decorating pop quiz. Which lamp looks better now in the bedroom space, the original or the new one? If you said the new one, you're correct, reason being that the scale looks better in proportion with the night stand."
Martin Amado: "I found this piece while shopping, and I just couldn't resist."
Martin Amado: "Nice. Now we created the illusion of a window seat bench."
Martin Amado: "And the final touch: a luxurious throw here at the foot of the bed. And we are done."
Martin Amado: "All right, so this morning, we had two things in our favor to create a true master suite experience: a large space and the furniture. But it was still missing the final touches to make it all come together. Now, we added color in the room, and we took it to a whole new level of style. For Room for Improvement, I'm Martin Amado."
