All Room for Improvement

Decorating your home does not need to be feminine and tonight, our makeover maestro, Martin Amado, is showing us just that. He's going to help spruce up a space for one lucky guy. Let's watch on tonight's Room for Improvement.

WSVN -- Martin Amado: "On today's Room for Improvement, we are coming to the rescue of a firefighter who needs help decorating his new home. So guys out there, pay attention. I'm going to show you how you can still have a mans cave with lots of style."

Martin Amado: "What is your challenge with your living room right now?"

Pete: "What I've been trying to do is get it to represent what I love to do. I love the area here. I moved here about six months ago and I love the canal access. I'm right here next to the port."

Martin Amado: "We don't want to use sort of a fish shack as our inspiration."

Pete: "No."

Martin Amado: "All right so let me put this together for you and then, we'll surprise you at the end. I hope you like it."

Martin Amado: "Now, this has got to go."

Martin Amado: "The challenge I here is that if I were to center the sofa on the actual window, its going to make the entrance way too tight and its going to throw the room off balance. But, don't give up on me yet, I do have a solution for that."

Martin Amado: "So, what I did was cheat the width of the window so we have better symmetry with the sofa in front of it. This makes it appear that the window is actually wider, but in reality in ends over here."

Martin Amado: "I'm going to take a break. I'll see you guys later. Call me when its over."

Martin Amado: "It's an ottoman that we are using as a coffee table."

Martin Amado: "I choose two armless accent chairs here for Pete's living room because number one it gives him enough seating, but number two and most importantly, it doesn't interrupt the traffic flow into the other areas."

Martin Amado: "I love using floating ledges whenever possible. They don't take up too much room, yet you can still display all of your decorative accessories."

Martin Amado: "This stool makes the perfect accent table between the two chairs. I love the texture."

Martin Amado: "This morning Pete's living room was pretty bare. The bar and fishing rods were pretty much the main attraction. Now, new accent chairs and decorative accessories give the space a sense of style without losing its masculine look."

Martin Amado: "I do want to play a practical joke on Pete because he seems like a cool guy. So, I'm adding these really feminine pillows here in the center and I want to see his reaction."

Martin Amado: "Here we go. One, two, three."

Pete: "Oh my gosh, look at how nice. Look at the pillows. Look at that Riri."

Martin Amado: "Actually these pillows are just for you."

Pete: "I wouldn't have bought them myself, but I mean they are a great addition."

Martin Amado: "I just wanted to play a little practical joke on you, so this is really how your living room looks. You guys are happy to all the guys at home, thank you so much for watching and we'll see you on another Room for Improvement."
