OK do-it yourself-ers tonight's Room for Improvement is just for you. Makeover maestro Martin Amado is showing us how to make a project sure to wow your friends.

WSVN -- Martin Amado: "If you are looking for decorating ideas for your next outdoor get together, your local garden center may have everything you need. Let me show you on today's Room for Improvement."

Martin Amado: "All right, so these are plant containers that you can find at any local garden store. They come in many finishes from terracotta, even plastic and we are going to give it a completely different use. So, let's begin with the first project."

Martin Amado: "I found these miniature pots for only 40 cents each and I'm going to use them as place card holders. First, I'm applying chalk board paint on the very front, so that we can easily write each persons name. Cute idea huh?"

Martin Amado: "The finishing touch is to add a plant inside each pot and that way the guests can also take it home."

Martin Amado: "Perfect. Belkys and Craig you're invited."

Martin Amado: "Now, we can set the table and to continue with our garden theme. I'm actually using these plant saucers that typically go underneath a pot to hold all the excess water as our plate charger. Pretty cool huh? I love the rustic look."

Martin Amado: "Remember this is only for decorative use, so I don't recommend eating directly from the saucer."

Martin Amado: "I know its much easier to use styrofoam or paper plates when you are hosting a party, but if you invest in plastic or even melamine plates like these, not only are you always going to have them, but you are doing something good for the environment."

Martin Amado: "All right, so drinks are essential when you're hosting a party and typically when we have a large quantity we use a regular ice cooler or one of those big styrofoam containers, not the most attractive thing in the world. So, a more stylish solution is to use a plant container like this one, its plastic, I love the shape and we are going to use it as an ice tub."

Martin Amado: "They come in different sizes too. So, you can use just one for soda's, one for wine, maybe even for beer."

Martin Amado: "Finally, we can use these larger, ceramic containers - its the real thing, it weighs - as an end table, by simply placing a round glass right on top."

Martin Amado: "Shopping at a garden center is a perfect place to be inspired and come up with creative ideas for decorative elements when your entertaining outdoors. Look at all the things we did with basic plant containers. Pretty cool huh? Till next time, I'm Martin Amado for Room for Improvement."
