WSVN -- Even Shopaholics confess paying the high price of high fashion can really be a drain on your wallet.

A great way to get style on a budget is to shop off-price discount stores, but there are some tricks of the trade, and we've got the stores' insiders to show us how to snag the best merchandise.

Yep, if big names are your game, Filene's Basement is a must shop.

Just look at all those designer bags. The real trick is knowing when to shop. Filene's gets new merchandise every Tuesday and Friday.

Debbie Brown: "The merchandise is usually out by two in the afternoon, so the next day is usually the best day, but you want to shop early."

On delivery day, we found Vera Wang for $100. It retailed at more than a $1,000.

Debbie Brown: "For the very best bargains, you want to shop our clearance racks. We do our markdowns the first week of every month."

At TJ Maxx and Marshalls you can snag anything from designer clothes to bedding to furniture. While the stores' insiders aren't allowed to name-drop the brands they sell, we'll take a moment for a musical hint.

We found out the best time to shop is Monday through Friday as new items go out. Keep in mind, the stores restock at night.

Alison Deyetta: "So if you want first dibs on the best items, come in the morning."

At the Marshalls in the Dolphin Mall we found Dooney and Burke handbags, theory and Betsey Johnson dresses. More savings can be found at Bealls outlet stores; the key, shop the dots.

Mary Beth Allen: "Every month, the merchandise is marked down, and we would put a dot on that particular merchandise."

Each dot represents a higher percentage off.

Bealls puts out most new items over the weekend. So Monday and Tuesday are the best days to shop. But with any of these discount stores there's one shopping secret all the insiders agree on...

Most of the stores also have frequent shopper clubs, so the more you spend, the more you save.
