We know the idol judges in hollywood have an opinion and the judges in our studio have an opinion but if you cant be persuaded on which idol to pick, maybe you should see what they were like before they were famous. In tonight's special assignment report, our Idol Insider Lous Aguirre is sharing some Finalist Facts.

WSVN--Louis Aguirre: "Credit the folks at Idol. As much publicity as these kids get, we know very little about their lives off stage. But we did a little digging and found each singer moves to their own beat."

Taylor...

Chris...

Katharine...

And Elliott.

You know all these 'idols' by name, by voice and by all the 'quirky' things they do on stage.

But, there's some 'facts about these finalists' you probably don't know.

Chris Daughtry wasn't exactly 'born to rock.'

When he was younger he wanted to be a martial arts film star!

Lucky for us, he discovered rock music and became the front man for an alternative band in Mcleansville, North Carolina called 'Absent Element'.

Mark Perry: "Chris Daughtry the absent element of Absent Element.  He is doing an incredible job."

Elliott Yamin's gifted singing may get him to Broadway one day but the Richmond, Virginia native also holds a passion for basketball.

In fact, Elliot used to play so much, he picked hoops over homework.

Elliot skipped so much school, he had to go back and get his GED.

Right before Idol, he was working part time as a clerk stocking shelves at a Richmond pharmacy.

Katharine McPhee's had the 'Mc-Pheever' for singing since she was 2 years old.

She grew up in LA and went to high school with The OC's Rachel Bilson.

Katharine even beat Rachel when she was voted 'Most Likely To Be Famous.'

And if this singing thing doesn't work out, check out her acting.

That's Katherine as Annie Oakley at a California Playhouse production of "Annie Get Your Gun."

And finally, long before Taylor Hicks was playing that funky music, he was playing basketball at Hoover High School in Alabama.

But it wasn't just about sports for Taylor.  Back then, he was also voted 'Most Musical'.

Music even extends to his two pet goldfish.

One is named 'Ray' after singing legend Ray Charles.  The other fish is 'Lamont' after a character on his favorite show "Sanford and Son".

But the fish could soon be staring at some new furniture.

If Taylor wins Idol, the first thing he's buying is a new couch to replace this old one in his apartment.

But we have a feeling he may not be living in that apartment for too much longer.

Louis Aguirre: "When we talked to Taylor's dad he said that taylor was always a hyper child...And loved to entertain. He also says taylor inheritated his premature graying from him."
