7 News Features: Bridal Bling
Ladies what if the "something borrowed" on your wedding day could be a $100,000 in jewelry? A South Florida hotel is making that dazzling dream come true for brides. 7's Lynn Martinez shows us how you can walk down the aisle decked out in major Bridal Bling.
Amaury Piedra-GM, Westin & Sheraton Hotels: "As part of the All That Shimmers package, a bride gets to select two pieces of jewelry with a value of up to $100,000. It's some serious bling."
Yes, you heard right, $100,000 in jewelry and all you have to do is throw a wedding at the Westin with at least 75 guests.
Amaury Piedra-GM, Westin & Sheraton Hotels: "Anyone that books a wedding at the hotel of per person of $150 and above, is entitled to the All That Shimmers Package."
The idea of dripping in expensive diamonds on her wedding day was very appealing to bride-to-be Patricia Coral.
Patricia Coral: "Very unlikely that I could ever afford to wear $100,000 in jewelry."
The 25-year-old has now sealed the deal for an October 2014 wedding at the Westin, and she knows it's the chance of a lifetime.
Patricia Coral: "Who can deny wearing an amazing piece of jewelry on your special day? That was definitely a big reason for me to be here."
Veronica Coral: "I would love to get re-married and have this experience."
In true celebrity-style, the bride and her entourage are whisked away in a limo to Levinson Jewelers' on Las Olas.
Patricia to mom: "Have you ever been in a limo?
Mom: "No this is great."
The bride arrives to champagne and the fabulous chance to try on whatever she wants.
Diamond earrings, necklaces, rubies and emeralds. It's the brides time to shine.
Patricia Coral: "I feel like a hundred thousand dollars. Truly. I feel like a princess."
For Patricia it came down to these chandelier earrings and a bracelet.
Patricia Coral: "Around $100,000 on right now. That's pretty special."
Or her second choice: A stunning necklace as the center piece.
Patricia Coral: "I have on a necklace, very simple stud earrings. The price is right there."
A security team makes sure the baubles get to the bride on her big day and then safely back to the jewelry store. But what happens if the bride happens to break or even worse, lose the jewelry?
Amaury Piedra-GM, Westin & Sheraton Hotels: "We have insurance to cover that. At the end of the day, it's not on the bride. It's on the hotel."
Patricia Coral: "I'm probably going to be a little bit stressed wearing a very beautiful and very expensive piece of jewelry."
Well, not too stressed she'll be too busy dazzling her groom and guests with all her bridal bling.
Patricia Coral: "I know that this is very unlikely this will happen again, so this is a moment that I will cherish the rest of my life."
The "All that Dhimmers" package also includes dressing rooms stocked with goodies for the bride and groom on their wedding day. Spa treatments for the couple the day after the wedding and a room at the Westin on their Anniversary.
