There aren't a lot of places to hear live music here in South Florida, so we went in search of some of the best spots to hear any kind of music you want, any time you want. Seven's Belkys Nerey starts by singing the blues in tonight's Style File.
WSVN -- Whether you lost your wallet or your best girl, we've got the perfect spot to sing the blues and wash away all your troubles.
Bourbon Steak at the Fairmont Turnberry resort in Aventura is hosting a Bourbon & Blues Night every Wednesday.
John Riccardo: "We brought in this fabulous talent, Albert Castillo and Graham Drought. They play some fantastic blues local."
Each week, a different local band will belt out the blues, and don't worry, you'll feel relaxed not depressed.
Dave Stewart: "These guys are really good. It's just a fun place to be."
John: "There is kind of a hip, you're kind of cool melancholy feel to it."
Bourbon Steak is known for it's sizzling steaks, but for Wednesday night, they have a blues-inspired menu.
Chow down on a pulled pork sandwich, beer-battered grouper with duck fat fries, crab beignets, and it doesn't get more down-home southern than this, chicken and waffles.
John: "One of my favorites is the chicken and waffles, which is wonderfully fried chicken cut up and served with these two warm waffles and syrup, very southern."
Jen Casutto: "I'm having a great time. The music is amazing, and the food is great."
For those who like their whiskey neat or on the rocks, the price of booze won't give you the blues.
John: "We have 25 percent off all American whiskeys and all of our bourbons. Of course, we have a deep selection of bourbons, of course, being named Bourbon steak."
If jazz is more you thing, head to the second floor of the Van Dyke Cafe on Lincoln Road in South Beach.
Luca: "They can come seven nights a week, and we always have good, live music."
Yep, every single night you can find some sort of live music there. Anything from jazz, R&B, Latin and funk.
Tim: "The extra added benefit is that there is no cover charge to listen to great jazz."
The space is super cozy and very romantic from the looks of things, but get there by nine. Otherwise, it's pretty much standing room only on any given night.
Luca: "I believe it is the power of the music. Especially if it's live, and especially if it's good."
They offer a full menu. Their best sellers are the burger, ahi tuna and the new portobello mushrooms with poached eggs.
Tim Bush: "I come here three or four nights a week, and it's for the quality entertainment, and they've selected great artists and great food."
Clapping, snapping your fingers and singing along are all encouraged, just no jazz hands please.
The live music at the Van Dyke starts at 9 p.m. and goes to one in the morning.
