Style File: Schnebly Wine Nights
The hustle and bustle of city life can get old. So we've found a place where you can enjoy nature with a glass of tropical wine and dance the night away under the stars in tonight's Style File. 7s Belkys Nerey takes us out to the country for a great Friday night party.
WSVN -- By day Schnebly Winery is an oasis in the redlands garnished with lush tropical flowers, fountains and fish.
The winery is a rare find in Florida making and bottling wine from many of our tropical fruits, but every Friday night the winery turns into a big party palace.
Peter Schnebly: "We start with a happy hour from six to seven. You buy a bottle of wine and you get a bottle of wine for free."
At their "Friday Nights at the Winery," you can start inside the grand tasting room sampling anything from mango wine to get this avocado wine.
Peter Schnebly: "So you're gonna get everything from a dry crisp almost like a Pinot Grigio type of white, to a robust full flavored passion fruit wine. So hopefully we've got a wine for everyone."
Ben Norman: "We're having the guava tonight. Love it."
The real party happens outside under the tiki's and under the stars where you can dance the night away.
Peter Schnebly: "We always have live entertainment. We use local bands here very high energy, but we do switch it around a lot. So we'll do Latin, Country, we'll do Rock 'N Roll."
Lisa Vari: "The band tonight sounds wonderful. I can't think of too much better than South Florida, a tropical environment, some great wine and a band."
But don't let the word winery throw you off. This is an event where you can bring the whole family.
Sue Ocuto: "We come almost every Friday night. We all bring our kids. We all get out on the dance floor, the kids dance, we dance."
What people like the most, they're encouraged to bring their own food and some of these people come with huge spreads.
Sue Ocuto: "We bring whatever we want. We have a whole dinner here, snacks desserts."
And all the nature around you is always good for a little romance.
Christian Ochoa: "She actually took me here for one of our first dates and I fell in love with the place. Even the seating, where we're sitting right now is candle lit, so it's romantic with the bottle of wine, it's great."
Every now and then you gotta leave the big city lights behind and just enjoy what the country has to offer.
Belkys Nerey: "The event is every Friday night from six to ten, and it costs $6 a person. $4 for children.
