Style File: Karma Car Wash
It may sound strange, but if you don't have plans this weekend, you may want to consider going to the car wash. That's because giving your wheels a wash is now a good excuse to wine and dine. Seven's Belkys Nerey shows us where to go in tonight's Style File.
WSVN -- There's good karma at this new car wash on Biscayne Boulevard.
Gone are the days of waiting, bored in the heat while your car is cared for.
At Karma Car Wash and Cafe, owner David Tunnel has turned the wash and wait experience into a wine and dine experience.
David Tunnell: "I think what makes this place special, you can really relax and unwind, and our idea was to cater towards that moment."
Outside, you can lounge in a comfy chair under an umbrella.
And inside it's a lounge-type atmosphere, where customers can snack on gourmet tapas and drink exotic beer and wine.
Stephanie Bromfield: "You don't mind waiting one hour to get your car detailed 'cause you got the air conditioned comfort, alchoholic beverages, wonderful food, and it's nice ambiance, flower stand outside and really friendly people here, it's nice."
Alfred Lamoureux: "Tapas. I had some great olives and cheese and a beer, but only one, it's not good to drink and drive."
While you're being cared for so is your car. They'll hand wash it, wax it and detail it.
And you don't pay extra for the ambiance, so you can drive away happy.
Denise Adams: "The car itself always looks excellent, shiny. I like to have my red be nice and shiny, and they always seem to do a great job with that."
David Tunnell: "We recycle our water, which is pretty unique for car washes, we use environmentally friendly cleaners so you know we take some unique measures in trying to be environmentally correct."
For them, good karma is all in the detail.
The car wash is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., but, after the carwash closes at night, the place also turns into a lounge.
