We hear Madonna sent him a thank you note, and fashion magazines can't get enough of his designs. A homegrown shoe designer is making it big time and Miami is his muse. 7's Belkys Nerey takes us shoe shopping in tonight's Style File.

WSVN -- Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Sergio Rossi -- you know the big names in shoes.

But there's a hot new name you may want to get to know.

Alejandro Inglemo, shoe designer: "I was born and raised here, grew up in the Gables."

Belkys Nerey: "Shoe designer Alejandro Ingelmo is gaining fame all around the world, but his feet are firmly planted in his South Florida roots."

Belkys Nerey: "His spring-summer line, which debuted at a party at Intermix on South Beach is all about Miami."

From the bright colors he chose:

Alejandro Inglemo: "Miami has this really blue water."

To their design:

Alejandro Inglemo: "It's sexy, and you're showing skin, but you're not showing all of it."

Belkys Nerey: "Even to the names of the shoes -- each style was designed after a girl Alejandro grew up with."

Alejandro Inglemo: "When I'm thinking of that girl, I'm thinking of a Latin girl, I'm thinking of that girl that is sexy, you know, but she's classy."

Belkys Nerey: "And the details don't stop at the shoes. His Cuban heritage is also in the shoe box."

Alejandro Inglemo: "My dad smokes Cuban cigars. I grew up seeing these boxes around the house, so I wanted to make the boxes different."

Belkys Nerey: "But, for all of us women, who are looking for comfort and cool, the other difference in Alejandro's shoes is flat-out brilliant."

Claudia: "They're incredibly comfortable. Not only are the colors great, but I could walk all night in them."

Sari: "What I really like about the shoes is that they have sexiness to them, but they are still wearable and comfortable."

Belkys Nerey: "Hey, Alejandro, how about a Belkys for your fall collection?"

Alejandro Inglemo: "Maybe. Ha, ha, ha, maybe."

Belkys Nerey: "You can find Alejandro's shoes at Intermix, Neiman's and Saks. They start around $300. Look for his men's line in the fall."
