Friday nights are exploding in South Florida. You can sip cocktails barefoot in the sand or gaze at the Miami sky from a rooftop terrace. In today's Style File, Seven's Belkys Nerey shows us some of the best places to unwind after a hard week.
WSVN -- Friday nights have never been so sexy. Slip your feet into the sand for Mandarin Oriental's Friday night party, Barefoot Oasis.
Gustavo Gelover: "This is the perfect place to finish the week because you can just relax, lay on the bed, slip off your shoes, sip a cocktail."
The party is held on the Mandarin's private beach every Friday night starting at six, and girls be sure to get your pedi because the first order of business, off with the shoes.
Claire Hutchinson: "They have a great place over there where you can check in your shoes, so you don't have to ruin your heels, and you get to play in the sand."
Massimo Carone: "Definitely bare feet on the sand, that's fantastic. It's a very good turn-on for guys."
While the DJ spins tunes, grab a bed and dine on sushi or dim sum or just unwind with a cocktail and enjoy the gorgeous view.
Kari Webber: "Friday night you want to do something a little laid back, relaxing."
Even when there's a cold spell, the Mandarin keeps everyone toasty with hot cocktails, bonfires and a marshmallow roast.
Claire Hutchinson: "It's really sexy."
Another place that's blowing up on Friday nights is Delores But You Can Call Me Lolita. Yep, that's really its name.
Joaquin Chamizo: "So it's kind of Delores, a very formal dining place early in the evening, and late night it's kind of like the nickname Lolita. It's a little more free, more for the drinking crowd."
Delores is located in the Hopping Mary Brickell Village, and it's got the look of a West Elm catalog.
Sarah Rudberg: "It's very loungey. It's very different. It's kind of like South Beach out of South Beach, without the prices or attitude."
If you hate paying outrageous prices for food, Delores is a steal. All the entrees are either $18 or $23, and you get a free appetizer with each.
Joaquin Chamizo: "Wines by the bottle are $13, and then, by the glass, you can have it for $4. We want the consumer to come here and say, 'Wow, we got a great meal, in the most beautiful restaurant, and we're not paying a heck of a lot.'"
Daisy: "You get a free appetizer, so it's almost like the food is free."
Dine in their formal dining room or check out the biggest draw, their rooftop terrace that overlooks the city.
Daisy: "The terrace is gorgeous. The breeze is blowing. Fabulous."
Tomas: "It's outdoors, nice environment, everybody's having a good time."
Delores, you can call me hooked.
Belkys Nerey: "Dinner at Delores starts at 6 p.m., and the kitchen doesn't close until 1 a.m. As for the Mandarin party, it will last until May."
