It's not often we get to do something fabulous for ourselves and save money for those who like to be pampered. Some of Miami's top spas are offering half-priced treatments for the month of July. In tonight's Style File, Sevens's Belkys Nerey previews Miami's first ever Spa Month.
WSVN -- Just like foodies look forward to Miami Spice with it's gourmet meals at good prices, now spa connoisseurs can indulge in some pampering at relaxed prices during the month of July.
The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau is launching the first ever Spa Month.
Rolando Aedo: "Spa Month is the first time we've brought together 20 plus of the finest spas that Miami has to offer. We've modeled this program after our highly successful Miami Spice Restaurant Month."
And it's just as delicious because the spa treatments are only $99.
Rolando Aedo: "We've encouraged our spas to put together customized treatments, something unique, something different, that perhaps the customers haven't seen at this price point or haven't seen at all."
The spa at the Setai in South Beach is giving you a two-fer for your money. Start off with a 30-minute coffee or Ayurvedic body polish.
Jorge Collazo: "The coffee one actually energizes you, and the Ayurvedic actually detoxifies the body."
Then, once you're all buffed and smooth, you'll get a 30-minute Balinese massage, and wait until you see these huge treatment rooms.
Jorge Collazo: "There's a large terrazzo tub where you can do pre or post treatment bath rituals. You also get a private bathroom, shower and steam room."
The spa at Shula's in Miami Lakes is another quiet oasis where you can decompress for less.
Linda Higgs: "Here at Shula's, we are a small intimate facility. We offer seven treatment rooms with various rituals. We pride ourselves in knowing our customers on a first name basis."
Shula's is offering an hour-long Chakra energy massage to get rid of stress plus an Aveda green science facial.
Linda Higgs: "The green science facial is actually an anti-aging facial, which offers firming to the skin and massage techniques."
Another hidden gem you shouldn't miss is the Jurlique Spa at the Mayfair Hotel in Coconut Grove. This old hotel hosts a beautiful spa.
Nika Rabova: "The spa itself has got stained glass windows. We have seven beautiful treatment rooms, Vichy shower, bath, every single client gets their own private changing room, which is not common in other spas."
Their Journey to Havana package is inspired by Miami's signature cocktail, the Mojito. You start off with a foot bath soaking your tired feet in mint, lime and sugar.
Nika Rabova: "Then we move on the Vichy shower, where we do a massage, and follow up with a scrub of entire body and then, afterward, a shower."
Once you're done, lounge on their patio with a fresh cocktail and relax in the fact you have a lot of cash left in your pocket.
Belkys Nerey: "So, once again, spa month starts on July 1st and treatments are $99. That does not include tax and tip."
