Style File: Spa Chic
Summer is winding down, but that doesn't mean all the summer fun and relaxation has to end. In tonight's Style File, 7's Belkys Nerey shows us how we can get pampered at some of South Florida's top resorts for a lot less!
WSVN -- The end of summer. Kids go back to school. Summer flings end. It can be a real bummer.
This should cheer you up, the greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau is launching "Spa Chic."
Jessica Taylor, Greater Ft. Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau: "It's a great opportunity for South Florida residents to have a final summer fling, to pamper themselves."
During the months of August and September you can pamper yourself for less at some of Lauderdale's top resorts and spas.
Jessica Taylor: "We have about 15 spas through out Broward that are offering $99 spa treatments, which are about a 50 percent savings."
If you want to be blissed out head over to "Bliss Spa" at the "W" Fort Lauderdale.
Diane Harris, Bliss Spa, Ft. Lauderdale: "It's a fun take on spa, we're not so spa serious. It's spa relaxing with bubbly fun attitude."
Bliss is offering a rapid rub, which is a 30 minute massage where you pick the body part to focus on. You'll also get a hot paraffin treatment or you can choose their signature facial, which usually runs for about $180!
Diane Harris: "We also have our Triple Oxygen Blast, which is a 30 minute facial that uses a blast of oxygen to really give you that Bliss glow. We also have the paraffin pack as well."
Some added benefits, you can indulge in their brownie bar, yum, and then relax on their co-ed terrace overlooking the ocean.
For classic elegance and rich pampering you can spa at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale.
Movita Hernandez, Ritz-Carlton, Ft. Lauderdale: "We're the only five Diamond luxury spa and resort here in Fort Lauderdale."
Guests can choose from a 50 minute wellness massage or what's called a "stone crop facial."
Get this, these green products are made from cactus plants.
Movita Hernandez: "The natural ingredients from the cacti will moisturize the skin, it also gives a lift, and it helps to lighten the skin. The stone crop facial is like aloe vera on steroids and is excellent for skin burn or any skin irritation."
An added bonus at the Ritz, you get to lounge at their pool when you're done spa-ing. Score! So have one last summer fling at the spa, it's a guilt-free pleasure!
Many of the hotels are also incorporating room stays so you can have a whole spa-cation.
