There's a restaurant where you'll get a chance to sample some of the best wines in the world, and maybe even meet the winemakers themselves! Hey and the food's pretty amazing too! 7's Belkys Nereys gives us a taste of all the fun in tonight's Style file.
WSVN -- Wine lovers unite to sniff, swirl and sip!
Paige swirlng her wine: "I'm a big swirler. I could stand around all night for hours swirling wine."
If you're looking for a place to wine down on Wednesdays, "Wine Watch" hosts a unique wine tasting every other week at Cafe Maxx Restaurant in Pompano.
Andrew Lampasone: "We have an event every other Wednesday, where we show six to eight wines. It's always something different, it's always something new."
For $35 you'll sample and learn about high-end wines from regions all over the world and the wines are always paired with some amazing food!
Andrew Lampasone: "Not only do you get wine, but Chef Saucy, puts out some pretty good food. It's not your average cube cheese plates that you get at some wine tastings."
Derek Friedman: "I come to as many as possible. They are all always well worth it. We are going to taste tonight some great wine."
They also offer winemaker dinners, where you can meet the actual vineyard owners, like mega french winemaker Louis Latour.
Paige Bradley: "This is an amazing event to come here and to have the wine creator at your fingertips to ask him questions and get to know them better."
At these dinners you better bring your A-game, you get to taste up to ten glasses of wine paired with several courses of food.
Andrew: "We have wines ranging from village to top wines in burgundy bron cru. Usually you wouldn't see that at your average tasting."
Lori Zuckerman: "A little citrusy, a little grapefruit, maybe a little minerally."
Cafe Maxx is all about wine all the time offering more than 300 labels stored all over the restaurant. The restaurant has been open for 26 years and that says a lot about the quality of the food there.
Darrel Broek, Owner, Cafe Maxx: "The restaurant is very food driven. The menu is written every day, so it's always changing. Always evolving."
Darrel Broek: "The caviar pie, you gotta have it. People love it, it's very unique. The tuna sashime pizza."
Paige Bradley: "Cafe Maxx is probably the best restaurant in Fort Lauderdale."
So go eat, drink and be merry, your week will go a lot better if you start on Wednesday.
