Style File: Live Music
From a supper club where you can be serenaded by big-time stars, to a New Orleans style club where you can jam with the band. 7's Belkys Nerey sets the stage for Miami's live music scene in tonight's Style File.
WSVN -- Don't let New Yorkers have all the culture and fun. Miami's main man Barton G. Weiss is bringing Manhattan to Miami with his version of 'cabaret.'
Barton G. Weiss, Prelude By Barton G.: "Everything that is old is new again. So, it's taking cabaret from the past and contemporizing it."
Every other weekend at Prelude by Barton G in the Adrienne Arsht Center the restaurant is transformed into a 'supper club' where you can have dinner, drinks and an unforgettable show.
Gavin Creel, Broadway Star: "The night is going to be really special, intimate night. Some cool broadway songs, pop songs, a couple original songs"
The list of performers so far not too shabby! Broadway stars Gavin Creel, Cheyenne Jackson and actress and comedian Sandra Bernhard have all taken the stage.
Victor: "Every performance I have been to here has been an amazing performance."
The space is small, so each performance is like an intimate, personal show.
Victor: "When they make jokes or sing songs, they're looking at you and engaging you."
If you're looking for a different live music experience "The Stage" is set in the Design District.
Jessica Muelle: "I'm a major live music person!"
The Stage is an old warehouse, which has been turned into a live music mecca. It's like something you would find in New Orleans with an artsy, inside space and two garage-style doors that open to an outdoor courtyard to chill. Best part you can see the band from wherever you are.
Carlos Garcia: "The central focus of everything is the stage."
Expect to jam out with popular local bands like Afro Kumbe, but they're also bringing in acts from all over the country.
Carlos Garcia: "New Orleans, Austin, Chicago, L.A. Quality music is what we want."
Jessica: "You can come on a different night and there's a different vibe every time. Every night is a good night here."
So, go let the music move you.
Barton has just released another great lineup.
