Style File: Boutique Happy Hour
Fabulous clothes on sale, toss in some free drinks and sweet treats, and you have any girl's dream. In tonight's Style File, Seven's Belkys Nerey shows us how some local boutiques are creating their own happy hours for shopping.
WSVN -- What could be better than two-for-one drinks at happy hour? How about free wine, some appetizers and trendy clothes at slashed prices?
Marijean Marma: "Drinking and shopping together. You can't beat that."
Girls, mark your calendars. At Downtown Divas Boutique in Midtown they've created what's called Wine and Cheese Wednesdays.
Danielle Fraser, Downtown Divas, owner: "Wine and Cheese night happens every second Wednesday of the month. It's a good way for us to bond with the customers and in a less formal setting."
Once a month, gal pals can sip and shop and, even better, score a sweet discount.
Danielle Fraser: "It's 20 percent off the entire store, which is a great incentive."
Jasmine Grant: "It gives you a personal vibe, and it makes you want to bring your girls in and just hang out."
At the boutique, you can buy high-end fashions like bathing suits from Miami-based swimsuit designer Bianca Coletti or pick out anything from work to party clothes, lingerie and accessories, all at non-diva prices.
Casey Chapman: "The prices here can't be beat, especially for the styles that you are achieving. Everything looks like it's a million bucks."
At Remuer Boutique in Miami Shores, celebrate the end of the work week with Finally Fridays.
Ericka Saieh: "Everybody loves Fridays. Go to work on Friday, then, after that, you can go with your girlfriends, go shopping and have wine and cheese and kind of mingle, and then go out with the outfit you got at the store."
This girl party kicks off around five every Friday.
Lourdes Amador: "The wine, the cupcakes, the food always helps while you're shopping."
Karla Medina: "I had a really stressful day at work, and this way I can really relieve stress and also, I need to find the perfect outfit for my dinner tonight."
Owner Ericka describes her store as a walk-in closet packed with local designers.
Ericka: "It's a lot of long dresses, short dresses, mostly long though. It's flowy. We have Veronica M., we have Nikki Pelose, we have Frenzy. I want things that no one else has."
So everyone toast to happy shopping.
Rumuer also hosts Sugar Saturdays. Here customers can bring their kids for some sweet treats, and if you're too lazy to leave home, Downtown Divas will bring the clothes to you and friends.
