Mercedes-Benz Swim Week kicks off tonight here in Miami and it's invitation-only, but we've got your sneak peak at what's going down the runway. 7's Belkys Nerey shows us what's hot on the beach for 2013 in tonight's Style File.
WSVN -- No one knows how to rock a swimsuit better than the 305. It's our uniform, after all.
It's going to be a jungle out there in 2013 and it's not your usual leopard prints.
Ginger Harris-Fashion Expert: "We're going to be seeing actual animals on the bathing suits, like monkeys. We have peacock, you don't see peacock very often, it's beautiful it's blue, it's got gold shimmer."
Designer Poko Pano is going to the birds in 2013. Poko and another big designer Keva J are also proving high-waisted bottoms are still on the rise next year.
Ginger Harris-Fashion Expert: "Women love the high-waisted bikini because it tucks everything in."
Also get ready to sway down the beach fringe is still in.
Ginger Harris-Fashion Expert: "Fringe is coming out again this year. L Space by Monica Wise is doing it. It's sexy, it moves."
And expect hot flavors from all over...
Ginger Harris-Fashion Expert: "We're also going to be looking at kind of a global theme, where we have Aztec, Egyptian, Spanish. L Space by Monica Weiss has a Cleopatra-inspired bathing suit which kinds of it gives it this Egyptian feel"
Crochet doesn't seem to be going anywhere, either but these sexy suits aren't something your granny would knit.
Ginger Harris-Fashion Expert: "Anna Kosturova is a designer who hand-crochets her bathing suits. It takes her two years to come up with a new stitch, and pattern."
Local Miami Designer Colleen Thompson has her own eye-catching twist on crochet and it's sure to set you apart from everyone else on the beach.
Colleen Thompson-Designer-Bikini Flavors: "The Eye Candy collection is all handmade macrame pieces. It's a little different version of crochet, a little bit thicker. I love fringe."
Expect bold colors like red and turquoise in her 2013 collection which she says looks good on all skin types. And you can wear her suits so many different ways.
Colleen Thompson-Designer-Bikini Flavors: "The 2013 Cocktail line is reversible separates, the print is more of a tribal print with an assortment of colors, anyone can pick their favorite and change their ties to match."
Another big trend for those who want to cover up is the monokini.
Colleen Thompson-Designer-Bikini Flavors: "The monokini bikini this year we brought out in a reversible cut-out the sides are cut out super sexy, gives you an hour glass shape."
