The holiday season is approaching and if you're looking for something to do with your family or out-of-town guests in tonight's Style File, 7's Belkys Nerey shows us all the action happening in Miami Beach in what's being called the theater district.
WSVN -- If you haven't been yet, the Soundscape Park at the New World Center on Miami Beach is the place to be every week.
Elizabeth Davis: "They've got really great sound. It's a nice and relaxing environment."
There are live New World Symphony concerts broadcast on the big wall for the public to see. And every week there are free movies in the park too.
Craig Hall-VP Communications, New World Center: "Every Wednesday through what we consider the season September through June, the city puts on a different film."
The weekly movies can be anything from a drama to a family flick. And people are serious about their lawn setup.
Craig Hall-VP Communications, New World Center: "It's sort of like an outdoor living room for Miami Beach where everyone can come together and enjoy the company of each other."
Elizabeth Davis: "It's just a really nice way to unwind in the middle of the week. Bring all of your food and wine and chairs down, and relax with your friends."
Right around the corner the new hu---ge Cooper Avenue is the perfect pit stop before or after an evening at the New World Center or the Fillmore.
Dan Puglisi-Director of Operations, Cooper Avenue: We are about 10 thousand square feet here onsite. We have a bakery, with homemade bread, pizza, then we have a marketplace, which is all grab-and go items. We also have a deli which is all hot and cold prepared foods by the pound."
Seriously, if you need it they probably have it and the place just keeps on going with a sit-down restaurant and lounge.
Dan Puglisi-Director of Operations, Cooper Avenue: "We have tons of specials going on from pre-fixed menus before and after the theater. We also have a great selection of picnic baskets items you can take with you for Wallcast and movies. Also in the works we have an Cooper Avenue pizza App, where you can order pizza online during the movie and pick it up after or during the film as well."
Josh Wagner-Customer: "This my third time here and every time has been different experience. I love that it's open and you can roam around the space and discover it. You can get everything from suntan lotion or newspaper."
It all makes for an easy night out. And who doesn't want that in Miami Beach?
Some of the exciting things coming up for the holidays on December 18th there is a holiday concert that will be shown on the wall in the park, and a yoga night in the park on January 11th.
