Style File: The hoxton/St. Regis
South Florida is full of party palaces, but some nights you just want to go out and relax, sip a good cocktail and enjoy some great music. Good thing there are some new places to do just that. 7's Belkys Nerey is lounging around in tonight's Style File.
WSVN -- There's not exactly a beach in Brickell but now there's a beach house right in the middle of the bustling district.
Bethany Martinez-Events Coordinator, The Hoxton: "I usually describe it as The Hamptons meets New England."
It's easy to make yourself at home at The Hoxto. A new beach bungalow-type lounge in the Axis Condo building. Comfy couches are sprinkled throughout the large space with books and vintage pictures lining the walls and black and white movies playing on several TV screens.
Grace Gallick: "It does feel very beachy."
There are plenty of nooks and crannies to relax with a cocktail, but it's also one of the most unique new places to listen to live music.
Bethany Martinez-Events Coordinator, The Hoxton: "We have live music Wednesday through Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. We have all your local bands. Rock, jazz anything you can think of."
Diego Sanchez: "Very comfortable like a living room vibe. It was really nice to have the band right there, front and center."
You'll want to sip specialty cocktails like the Hoxton lemonade'and share some food.
Diego Sanchez: "It's a New England-style fare, very light fresh a lot of seafood."
Want a lounge that screams luxury vacation even if you're not really on vacay? Any night of the week settle down at the Cush new sushi lounge inside the St. Regis.
Every night there is some sort of live music in the beautiful lounge making it easy to zen out.
Bora Stankovic-Bar Manager: "Thursday through Sunday we have a three piece jazz band. The other days we do have a piano player and a guitar player."
And set your watch for 7:30 p.m. for the champagne sabering, which is a St. Regis tradition.
Bora Stankovic-Bar Manager: "The butlers with the white gloves saber a bottle of champagne in celebration of the end of the day. We offer a glass of champagne to all of our guests in the lounge. We thought it was great, it was the reason we came here I'm still amazed at how he opens the champagne bottle without cutting any glass or fingers."
There are asian-inspired cocktails and sushi is the star of this lounge.
Bora Stankovic-Bar Manager: "All of our sushi rolls are handmade and served with wasabi made tableside. These are shishito peppers, one of the ten is spicy. Great appetizer also great snack while you're enjoying our cocktails."
You don't have to rage every time you go out instead relax with a no-hassle-kind-of-night.
Good news: The Hoxton is the first of three future restaurant and bar openings in the Axis condominium.
