Tonight's Style File is all about karats. But not the kind you eat. The kind you wear...Because one of the greatest jewelers in the world is now calling South Florida home.
WSVN--Harry Potter, Harry Connick Jr and Prince Harry. They're all very famous and they're all named Harry. But women are only wild about one Harry: Harry Winston.
Belkys: "What is it about the name that just automatically makes you think fabulocity?"
Susan Pullin: "Because Harry was the one who set the precedence in the 40's of dressing the stars and making the jewerly be wearable for the glamour icons."
The famed diamond house is a favorite with stars like Drew Barrymore, Teri Hatcher and Gwyneth Paltrow. When its time to shine on the red carpet
Susan Pullin: "Harry Winston knew how to pick a winner with diamonds and he knew how to pick a winner with the Academy Awards."
And here in South Florida the Harry Winston Salon opened its doors in Bal Harbour with a diamond studded soiree.
Susan Pullin: "We had the best of the best of Miami come and join us, so we were thrilled."
The salon also showcases one of a kind pieces like the lesotho diamond -- a 72-carat emerald-cut ring which sells for six-million-dollars. But you don't have to be a celebrity or a gazillionaire to wear a Winston bauble.
Belkys: "What is the least expensive thing in the store."
Susan Pullin: "You can get a wedding band for $3,500 dollars you can get a wonderful pair of diamond loop earings for about $5,000."
Belkys: "Well Susan, you are a doll, you are a great interview you are great to look at - But I came here to try on jewerly so let's get busy."
Belkys: "Beautiful."
Belkys: "Is that fab or what?"
Belkys: "It's a piece of jewerly it's not a watch."
Susan Pullin: "When you are wearing that who cares what time it is."
So whenever you're in the mood to dazzle remember Harry Winston can make anyone feel like a star.
Susan Pullin: "For people to aspire to have something wonderful to wear and put on and feel like a million dollars."
By the way, a portion of the proceeds from the opening party will go to the Red Cross.
