If you're hosting a New Years Eve party - watch out. The standard for throwing a soiree has been raised signifigantly. In tonight's Style File, we found old and ordinary won't do. Instead, people are starting to expect the elaborate. Here's 7's Belkys Nerey with more.

WSVN--From Elton John's over the top wedding bash in London -- to Diddy's celeb studded VMA bash in Miami -- celebrities really know how to throw it down.

Diddy: "Alright Miami, you know what time it is let's get ready to party."

But you don't have to be an A-lister to party like one and it's never too early to start.

Amber Ridinger: "I feel very lucky and I am so grateful to my mom and dad for doing this for me."

Just ask 13-year-old Amber Ridinger. Her parents Loren and Jr spared no expense to celebrate her bat mitzvah.

Loren Ridinger: "We are really excited and i think the most important thing is that everybody is going to have a good time."

The star-studded "pink" carpet event even featured guest appearances by chart toppers Ja'rule and Ashanti.

Ashanti: "We have Amber the princess in the house a big day for her so we are gonna have a good time."

Some people like Mindy Karl call in the reinforcements when they plan a party. She hired event designer extraordinaire Karen Cohen.

To help with her son's bar mitzvah bash, together they came up with a summer camp for kids and adults to enjoy.

Mindy Karl: "I have three boys and it was a camp theme which is something that is an everyday event in my house."

Karen's creativity helped bring childhood memories to life by transforming the Coconut Grove convention center into a campground.

Karen Cohen: "I don' think anyone expected what they saw when they walked into the convention center."

So whether it's a celeb studded soiree or just a fiesta for your friends the experts say that creativity is the key to a good time.

Karen Cohen: "I just think that people are getting a little more brave and more corageous with what kind of parties they throw."

Parties like this can run up to thousands of dollars and they take months to plan. In the Newsplex Belkys Nerey, Seven News.
