When most of us look to buy a car, we worry about the make, model, color, and accessories, but for some people, it's all about a look that's completely unique and sometimes outrageous. Time to ride shotgun in tonight's Style File.
You've seen them in music videos....
On the streets....
And the stars love 'em....
From convertibles to SUV's to hybrids
Cars have sure come a long way, but these days customized classic and new rides are the driving force behind some major style.
James LeMorin, DE Auto Accessories: It all probably started off with the rap industry and individuals such as Trick Daddy who mentioned vehicles like 71's and the old Chevy's that we call Donks.
As for 80's model Chevy's they're known as boxed caprices -- and Mike Wells loves his unique ride.
Mike Wells, Custom Car Owner: I mean it's a good feeling, you know by the attention you get from everybody else out here in the streets.
Mike's wheels are customized with a superb sound system and heck -- even a Playstation.
Talk about a tricked out ride.
James Lemorin: We can take a car and put like 8-12 inch speakers in it and have the ground shakin' if you want.
Forget haute couture -- this is haute car-tour! This white Cadillac Escalade with a Louis Vuitton paint job and out of this world interior is a real traffic stopper.
99 Jamz DJ, Khaled (like caliente) loves living in the fast lane -- his $80,000 black BMW is completely souped up with black leather interiors -- a color TV and $13,000 rims.
You got to profile this car is phat, the car is fashion you know when you are wearing a nice outfit and you are driving a nice car, you feel good.
So if you have the cash -- why not accelerate your car to a new level of style.
It shows you, that it's your car coming down the street and not someone else's.
