All The Buzz

While most teenagers are hanging out at the mall -- 17 year-old Avril Lavigne is rocking the music world in a big way.

(WSVN) "Tell me, why'd you have to go and make things so complicated..."

There's nothing complicated about Avril Lavigne.

The 17-year old's debut c.d. -- "Let Go" is simply moving its way to the top of the music charts.

Singer Avril Lavigne says, "I was like overwhelmed kinda. It was like wow, like I wanted to do this when I was little and now I'm doing it, like everything I've wanted to do is happening."

Now fame does come with a price -- like missing out on doing teenage stuff.

But the Canadian - born singer says she's willing to pay it.

She says, "When I first left home I used to feel like I was missing out on some stuff, but, but at the same time it's like getting to do this amazing opportunity sitting in front of me."

And Avril's making good use of that opportunity by writing her own material.

"I wanna go up on stage and sing what comes from me. I don't want to sing something about somebody else's relationship that they've had," Avril says.

"Everything's changing..."

Looks like everything's changing for the better --

She snagged the M-T-V video music award for best new artist.

Video music award -- top-selling cd -- looks like things are good.

"Life is great, it's treating me great, now I just need a boy."

Plenty of time for that Avril...check out her c-d, it's in stores now..
