The Buzz: "The Sum of All Fears"

Harrison Ford followed up with two more films... .

Now it's Ben Affleck's turn to bring Jack Ryan to the big screen... but he didn't take the role without talking to the author behind the popular C.I.A. hero.. 

Ben Affleck says,"I  went down and talked to Clancy cuz I wanted Clancy to know it was really important to me that he approve of my doing it and be involved...." 

Clancy as in Tom Clancy the author behind the best selling books the successful Jack Ryan movie franchise is based on....Affleck actually got Clancy's blessing before accepting the role...  

Tom Clancy, an author, says, "I thought it was a sign of great maturity on his part and we had dinner together. He's smart. He's articulate. He listens. He just impressed the hell out of me. I don't impress that easily, but he impressed me a very great deal."

Now Hollywood is hoping Affleck impresses moviegoers in the Sum of All Fears.
 
In the prequel Affleck plays a young Ryan when he first arrives at the C.I.A.  The movie's plot revolves around terrorists and nuclear bombs and Affleck says it could leave American audiences wondering what if....

"Is the government doing enough to prevent this from happening? Are we safe at sporting events and concerts...I think it's a real question that resonates in people's minds I think it resonates in mine...."  "If you shut me out your family and 25 million other families will be dead..."

Morgan Freeman co-stars in this one...looks to be a good one....it opens Friday.
