A funny looking cartoon, a basketball player in drag, and a sci-fi thriller...Put them all together and there's something for everybody at the movies this weekend.
(WSVN) He's sort of a cross between a koala and a puppy, but Disney's latest animated character is nobody's pet. Lilo and Stitch is a story about a Hawaiian girl, who adopts this unusual animal.
But it turns out "Stitch" is actually an extra-terrestial fugitive from the law. Kids will adore the loveable characters and there some humor in there just for parents.
The basketball comedy, Juwanna Mann, stars Vivica A. Fox and Miguel A. Nunez. He plays a Dennis Rodman like basketball player, kicked off the team.
Miguel A. Nunez Jr., Actor, says "It was a guy who dressed up as a woman, to pay his bills, but he ends up falling in love with another female basketball star."
Miguel and Vivica trained for two months with a professional b-ball coach, and then perfected their moves against real N-B-A players.
Not much of a stretch for Vivica, who used to play in high school.
One of the most talked about movies of the year is the sci-fi thriller, Minority Report. Two of Hollywood's biggest names actor Tom Cruise and Director, Steven Spielberg, pair up for this film.
Actor Tom Cruise says, "To be on the set with steven and to see him direct and to be part of that was really special."
Set in the year 2054, Cruise's character heads up an agency that stops crime before it happens.
Steven Spielberg says, "I think this story flirst with what if we had a chance to know certain things about the future."
Minority Report, Lilo and Stitch, and Juwanna Mann open on Friday.
