The Buzz: Kid Movie Weekend
What do a talking mouse, a submarine captain and a town under attack by spiders have in common? They're all movies opening at the box office this weekend.
(WSVN) He's a tiny mouse... ready for another big adventure.
Michael J. Fox stars once again as the voice of Stuart Little in "Stuart Little 2."
This time, the curious mouse pals around with a new friend, while exploring Manhattan.
Michael J. Fox isn't the only star back for Stuart Little 2 -- so are, child actor Jonathan Lipnicki and Geena Davis, who plays Stuart's overprotective mom.
Geena Davis says, "You're always trying to figure out, what's, where do you draw the line between trying to protect them and trying to allow them to explore."
The kids won't be disappointed by this one.
Got teens in the family too cool for Stuart Little -- then how about attacking spiders --
In the campy sci-fi flick, "Eight Legged Freaks" a town is attacked by giant mutant spiders.
In the film star, David Arquette, returns home to his small town after being away for ten years -- just in time for a visit from the creepy crawlers.
Arquette says it was a challenge working with spiders that weren't really there.
David Arquette says, "If they tell ya a spider's over there and your life's threatened you just have to play that and you have to play with it and believe it and try to make it as realistic as possible."
Harrison Ford says, "No sailors have been given such a boat, as K-19, tis the finest submarine in the world."
We're used to seeing Harrison Ford as an American hero, but in "K-19: The Widowmaker", he plays the captain of a Russian submarine.
Harrison Ford says, "Well, it's a very different character to any that I have ever played."
Based on a true story, Ford's character is faced with a tough decision after his submarine faces a nuclear meltdown.
Part of the movie was filmed in Russia, and Ford even met with some of the survivors of the incident.
By the way, Liam Neeson stars in this one too.
K-19: The Widowmaker and Stuart Little 2, open on Friday.
8 Legged Freaks opened Wednesday.
