Woman to Woman: Clothes Makeover
They say clothes make the man, but what about us girls? Well, in tonight's woman to woman, we decided to give a wardrobe makeover to Jacqueline -- a mother of eight children, who has never splurged on herself. So we decided to do it for her.
It's been a tough life for Jacqueline Pottinger.
This 38-year-old mother was, at one time, homeless -- but even without a roof over her head, her children have always been her priority.
Jacqueline: "I just focus on my children, I put them first, I put whatever I wanted to do on hold. Now, I'm ready to branch out and do what i want to do. I'm ready now, i have that need to fulfill my goals."
And that's how this makeover really started.
It's those dreams that led us to Jacqueline at the Assets Miami Program -- where she's learning to be her own boss.
But to do that, she's got to look good.
Jacqueline: "This is basically what I would wear. I don't even have a jeans pant."
Fashion Stylist Mario Vergel: "Hi, Jacqueline, I'm Mario. I'm here to style you today.
Jacqueline: "Oh, thank you. Come on in."
Jacqueline's getting some help from the best.
Mario Vergel -- stylist to stars like
Gloria Estefan, Carlos Ponce and Ricky Martin.
Mario: "What I want to do with you is to achieve, get staples into your wardrobe. I think we should get going and get started."
Jacqueline: "OK, thank you."
Mario and Jacqueline head for Bloomingdales at the Aventura Mall -- Jacqueline's first time ever at the store.
Mario: "Hello. I want to introduce you to Allison Bass from Bloomingdales.
Allison: "
Hi we're getting ready to change the way you look. Are you ready? Let's get started. . . Your wardrobe really defines your character and helps you exude confidence."After a look around the store, it's time to hit the dressing room -- the outfits Mario selected.
The all-reliable black suit.
M
ario: "Very, very classic. Very clean, timeless, which is an important thing."A little black dress with a splash of color.
And something every hip mother must have --but Jacqueline hasn't owned in years.
M
ario: "Everybody needs jeans and jeans are becoming a more a more important part of everybodies wardrobe."But what would new clothes be without cosmetics?

Then -- the moment of truth.
Melissa Pottinger
, Jacqueline's daughter: "You look so pretty. Oh, my God!"Check out Jacqueline before and after.
Her family has never been so proud.
Melissa
: "I think she looks beautiful. I mean she was beautiful before, but she looks much better. More prettier, you know? And I love it. Thank you."Jacqueline: "My confidence has skyrocketed a little bit. I just want to say thank you for giving me the opportunity, to look this nice."
A special thank you to Bloomingdale's. They not only gave Jacqueline the suit, but accessories, shoes and even threw in a pair of jeans... Plus gifts for the children.
Also to our stylist, Mario, who says, ladies, the best way to maximize your wardrobe is to stick with solid colors that you can mix and match.
