Catholics Charities Appeals For Aid To Support Francis And Ivan Relief Efforts:
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami are asking for monetary donations to support ongoing relief efforts for devastated regions throughout the Caribbean and Florida slammed by the consecutive hurricanes, Frances and Ivan.
Collaborating with their sister organizations in Grenada, Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas and Florida, Catholic Charities is providing initial assistance to meet emergency recovery needs and is now seeking monetary donations only to continue aiding storm victims.
Checks may be made out to "Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami" with a notation in the memo line designating the donation for Hurricane Relief. Donations may be sent to:

Florida Yacht International Relief Information/Monty's To The Rescue
A flotilla of 20 boats loaded with hurricane aid for victims of Hurricane Frances will sail from Coconut Grove to the Bahamas on Friday. A collection center has been set up at Monty's, the popular Coconut Grove eatery, for water, ice, baby food and other necessities.

The Cayman Islands were devastated after Hurricane Ivan passed through on September 12. Relief efforts are on its way and officials are asking for supplies for the victims of the storm.

To expedite the relief efforts for the Cayman Islands, Hamaty Simmonds and her husband Marcus Simmonds of Tortuga Imports/Tortuga Rum Cake Company set up their Miami warehouse as a staging area. They are working with relief agencies and airfreight companies to begin sending supplies as soon as conditions permit returning to the island.
