MIAMI (WSVN) -- New red light cameras will soon be installed in the City of Miami.
The cameras will be installed at traffic lights around Miami and should be up and running by the end of the year.
Lawmakers hope the new law will help put the brakes on red light runners and raise money for the cash-strapped city. Drivers will have to pay more than $158 if they run a light.
The cameras have popped up across other South Florida cities, including Miami Beach and Aventura.
