Elementary school principal charged with grand theft

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida principal is facing criminal charges.

Last Thursday, 43-year-old Rendolyn Amaker, the principal at North Fork Elementary School in Fort Lauderdale, was arrested. Amaker was charged with attempted grand theft auto and possessing a stolen driver's license.

According to police, Amaker tried to rent a car using another woman's driver's license and credit card.

The Broward County School District said it is not taking any action against Amaker at this time.
