HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) -- A father has been arrested and charged with child abuse after he allegedly threatened his son's classmate with a stun gun.

According to Hollywood Police, Jose Guerrero, Sr. went to Oakridge Elementary School around dismissal time Tuesday, to confront an 11-year-old student he believed was bullying his son. Police said Guerrero allegedly confronted the fifth grader, threw him against a fence and pulled out a stun gun. Police said Guerrero, 66, then asked the student, "Do you want some of this?"

Students who witnessed the incident told police who were on the scene helping with dismissal about the incident. Guerrero was then taken into custody. "Our officers were alerted to the fact that there appeared to be an adult threatening a student with a stun gun," said Hollywood Police Lieutenant Manny Marino. "Our officers were able to locate him right away. He did in fact have a stun gun on him. We spoke to the child in this case, and the child advised that as he was leaving the campus, the arrestee did in fact approach him, held him against the fence."

Police said the stun gun was activated but it did not go off. Guerrero was charged with one felony count of child abuse. He has since bonded out of jail.
