Teen speaks out after stabbing

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- A teen is speaking out after she was stabbed near a school bus stop.
According to investigators, a school bus dropped off 15-year-old Tamara Reath in the area of West Guava Street and Duval Avenue, at around 4:30 p.m., Wednesday. Soon after, the Southwood Middle School student found herself stabbed after trying to break up a fight.
Reath said that she felt the knife entering her as she struggled with another girl but never noticed she was stabbed until a little later. "When we were fighting on the floor, I felt something in my back. I didn't realize it until I got to my cousin's house that lives right around the corner from where the incident appeared to be at," said Reath, "and then, when I got there, I seen a whole bunch of blood coming out of my back, and my back was, like, in pain."
It turned out an assailant had stabbed Reath multiple times in the back and then fled the scene.
According to Reath, she saw the fight break out between her friend Rashod Miner and another student, as she stepped off the bus and then tried to break it up. "His sister was trying to jump in," said Miner, recalling the escalation of the fight, "so they jumped in, and then they started fighting the girl, and then, when they got down here, they stabbed her."
When asked how many times the suspect stabbed Reath, Miner said, "10. It was bad 'cause she couldn't breathe. We lifted up the back of her shirt, and she had all them stab wounds."
Audry Summerall, the victim's aunt, recalled getting the phone call informing her of her niece's condition. "Tamara was stabbed at the bus stop, and they said she's not moving, she's not responding, and I immediately just stood still to begin to pray."
Summerall said she had flashbacks to when another Southwood Middle School student was stabbed to death on campus, back in 2004. Jaime Gough suffered as many as 40 stab wounds in a school bathroom at the hands of a fellow student who would later slash his throat.
Reath was rushed to Miami Children's Hospital with multiple stab wounds to her back. She was released from the hospital later that same day.
Reath said many of her friends who saw the fight also said they know who did this to her: a fellow Southwood Middle student. The male subject, who witnesses at the scene said is known as "Junior," remains at large.
Summerall said someone has to know where the suspect is hiding out. "This kid had to eat last night. This kid had to sleep somewhere last night," she said. "Somebody knows something."
Reath addressed her attacker directly, as she said, "Why did you have to stab me four times if like I was doing nothing to you? I know you were trying to help your sister, but why stab?"
"When I catch him, it's over," Miner said of the suspect. "I want to fight him again."
The Miami-Dade Police Department continues to investigate the incident. However, they have not named a suspect.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of the suspect, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
