Van's odd package detonated

MIAMI (WSVN) -- Authorities safely detonated a suspicious package discovered late Tuesday morning in a vehicle parked near a pair of medical facilities.

A delivery truck driver notified police after hearing strange noises coming from a package on one of his stops.

Coral Gables Police and Miami Police had to escort between 25 to 30 employees out of the surrounding buildings and close a busy stretch of Tamiami Trail during the investigation, just before 12 p.m.

Miami Police blocked Southwest Eighth Street between 49th Avenue and 51st Court while the Miami Bomb Squad examined the package found inside the vehicle.

It turns out the package was just a children's toy.
