Police release sketch of elderly woman's attacker

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Detectives have released a sketch depicting a man who they believe attacked and robbed an elderly woman in her home.

The attack occurred last Tuesday night, at around 10 p.m., at the apartment of 89-year-old Pearl Patrinos, located at Northeast 33rd Street.

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives released the sketch Monday morning. "We're talking about a man in his late teens to early twenties, thin build, dark complexion," said BSO spokesperson Broward Sheriff's Office Keyla Concepcion about the person in the sketch.

According to police, this man knocked on Patrinos' door then forced his way into her apartment. Once inside, the criminal punched her in the face and dragged her to the bathroom. "He told me, 'Don't scream because I'll kill you,'" said Patrinos. "I think I had just screamed, but anyways, he told me, 'Don't scream because I'll kill you.'"

Besides a bruised and swollen face, Patrinos suffered dark bruises on her arms after the intruder dragged her from one room to another. The robber got away with $3 in cash and a small amount of jewelry.

Police now want to stop this man before he decides to attack another elderly woman home alone. "This could be anybody's grandmother," Concepcion said. "That's why we're asking anybody who can recognize this picture to please contact us."

Patrinos said she is still shaken up the experience and also wants to see this man off the streets before he strikes again. "You need to do all you can," she said. "If you know anything call, don't procrastinate. Just do it, because this man is evil, and he would do it to someone else."
