Police: Officer charged with DUI

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A South Florida Corrections Officer has been charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.

Miami Beach Police arrested Officer Tulio Panesso Saturday morning. Police said at 8 a.m., he hit another vehicle with his pickup truck along Sixth Street and Collins Avenue. According to police, he then fled the scene. The victim notified police.

According to a police report, officers located Panesso's vehicle and pulled him over in the area of MacArthur Causeway, at Terminal Isle.

Police said Panesso failed a road-side sobriety test and was arrested.
