Man arrested after posing as flight attendant
MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police have arrested a man accused of stealing another man's identity to work as a flight attendant.
According to police, 38-year-old Jophan Porter was arrested Friday afternoon after stealing another man's identity and getting a job as an American Eagle flight attendant.
Police said Porter was using the name Anthony Frair, a man from New York. Passenger Alejandro Hernandez is in disbelief by the news. "Wow, that's incredible," said Hernandez.
American Eagle released a statement that read: "American Eagle is actively involved in the investigation with law enforcement authorities, including the FBI."
Camilla Diaz doesn't understand how Porter got away with it. "How come a big company, a big company like that ... They have to check that before," said Diaz.
Porter was arrested after his flight returned from London. He is being held at the Miami-Dade County Jail and is charged with identity fraud.
Porter is from Guyana and is in the country illegally.
