Authorities investigate double homicide

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (WSVN) -- Police are investigating two murder mysteries in South Miami-Dade.

Authorities said a man was found shot in the head and killed in Homestead early Thursday morning. The 51-year-old's body was found outdoors, at Southwest Seventh Street and Third Avenue.

A few blocks away and just four hours later, another body was found outside. The disturbing discovery was made in Florida City at Northwest 14th Street and Seventh Avenue. Police said the man died from his injuries after he was also shot in the head.

Police do not know if the two murders are connected.
