Tented home ransacked and robbed

MIRAMAR, Fla. (WSVN) -- A homeowner whose tented home was burglarized is speaking exclusively with 7 News about the robbery.
Elizabeth Honorat recently hired a pest control company to fumigate her Miramar home.
On Friday afternoon, the company tented Honorat's home. Saturday morning, however, the exterminator called Honorat and informed her that someone had broken into her tented home. "And he said, 'Your house was broken into and your TV's gone,'" Honorat said.
Honorat's home was ransacked by thieves, who stole TVs, computers, a gaming console and several other small electronics from the home. "The television set was here and it was all secure," said Honorat. "They had time to search to see what they want to take, what they don't want to take."
The homeowner said she no longer feels safe after the burglary. "I don't even think I can sleep in this house tonight," she said.
After watching Honorat's story on 7 News, a generous viewer offered to donate a TV and a computer to the homeowner.
Miramar Police continue to investigate the robbery.
If you have any information on this burglary, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
